Victories and parades One possibility is to walk from there westwards, through the green parks of Tiergarten district (literally: the garden for animals, though there are no animals there as far as we know. It is called so because it 400 years ago it was the royal hunting ground). This track will bring us to the presidential palace Schloss Bellevue (no entrance).
Through the long avenue called Strasse des 17. Juni, we can cross Tiergarten further to the west, and see on our way the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (the world cultures house) which was donated by the US government to the city of Berlin after building it for its display in an international construction fair.
