We'll plan our trip to Berlin step by step. First, we must be sure we would like to go there by ourselves, not in an organized group.
Indeed, an organized trip has many advantages. Particularly, it saves most administrative concerns. We don't have to worry about transportation, accommodation, fees, entertainment. However, in such a trip we usually don't realize our expectations. A trip, the components of which are dictated by someone else, is tailored to the taste that organizer or to some group average, and not to our personal taste.
Moreover, not every site mentioned in a travel agency's brochure, is actually visited by the group. Some sites we shall only see through the bus' windows, so we may tell others later: "We were there!"
An organized tour is always more expensive as well, and we have no control over its costs.
An independent trip, on the other hand, is more complicated to prepare. It should be carefully planned. The probability of getting into trouble is relatively high. However, the satisfaction and pleasure are twice as larger. We see everything we'd like, or at least almost everything. No one makes us visit places that are not interesting us personally. And we can get a lot more than by traveling with a group.
From this moment onwards, we shall assume we have decided in favor of a "do it yourself" trip. So, what are we waiting for? Let's start planning it. Generally, we'll focus on cheaper flights and hotels, but we'll also refer to a more expensive means.
